Newpaper Big Walk - 10km

wow.. i walked more than 10km this morning.. can't believe i actually persevered and walked the whole distance (no shortcuts whatsoever ok?).

Anyway, i was quite pissed with the organisers.. They are supposed to provide us with mineral water halfway thru the walk. However, when we reached the waterpoint, they ran out of water!!! Then we saw a small crowd at the side nearby the waterpoint and apparently water was (supposedly to be) given out. Therefore my friend and i went over. However, to our disappointment, we heard..

someone said, "it's for casualties"...
another person pointed to the waterpoint said something (think he was trying to show us where's the waterstation, as if we cannot see x_X)
yet another person replied loudly, "there's no more there.. we walked all the way here and you all don't even have water for us?!?!"

by this time, we already walked back to the path.. and a few moments later, i saw that person holding a packet of water (-_-)!!.. i told my friend, we should hv stayed there a little longer and complain, then we could hv gotten some water... and my friend told me this is the situation in Singapore. For instance the time when she worked in a local telcom company, customers hv to complain, complain and complain, then will the company take action and do something. I guess this happens in many situation and that's why we Singaporeans are trained to "complain, complain and complain" and we ended up being complain kings and queens.

p.s.: heard fr my friend b4 the walk that some ppl go for the goodies bag (nt me of cos.. i go cos my friends jio-ed me), but i confirmed otherwise cos the goodies bag s**ks!!

desperate housewives and blogs

sh!t.. i juz realised i missed 2 episodes of desperate housewives. i nv missed any during school term, but during hols now, i actually missed 2.. omg omg

i juz read today's "Digital Life" and saw this article "Watch what you say online" which makes me wonder.. are online blogs a substitude for offline diaries? however diaries are private and confidential, blogs are not..

Blogs are not private and what you write is not your private thoughts that no one can read

the statement is actually very true. Whatever i write here can be seen by anyone, everyone. So it is not and will never be private and confidential.. Whatever we write on our blog is a false front, or it may be juz for show? We have to be careful of what we write for fear that we might get into trouble with the law or relationship (be it friendship, kinship etc etc) problems.. these problems are however not prevalent in diaries..

so why are we still writing on our blogs? or is this juz a trend?
to write on blogs means that u are ready to be judged by others. Though it is generally thought that what you write is none of the rest's biz.. it is not entirely true. If your writing is there for the rest to read, there are bound to be critiques..
so how receptive are you towards critiques?

anyway we went to kinokuniya and SJ told me the book "第一次的親密接觸" was nice and i heard that it's an online story, so i did a search on it and found the original taiwan version (traditional chinese) here. Also found an english version here. There are also other stories by the same author in the first link.. enjoy reading!!

cooking lessons

i went for my first cooking lesson yest night.. learnt 3 dishes, one of which is mushroom soup!!! well.. theory-wise, i suppose i know, but...... practical-wise, hahaha no attempts made so far

anyway i really wan to learn how to cook proper meals and pastries so that the food on my menu will not be only "instant noodles" and "fried eggs".

no job, no $$$

i'm very free nowadays and i'm too lazy to find a job. No job means no $$$, no $$$ means cannot go out plus i'm too lazy to go out. i wanna go overseas leh.. but no kahkis.. there are so many places that i would like to go. believe it or nt, i haven't been to genting b4, so it's definitely one of the places i would wan to visit one of these days (hopefully i can find kahkis and i'm nt too lazy to plan).~sigh~

i hv finished watching "at the dolphin bay" a few days ago.. quite a nice show though abit draggy in between (that's was to create the suspense actually).
